Snoop Dogg, Game Lead Protest on LAPD Headquarters

Posted on July 08 2016

Snoop Dogg and Game teamed up on Friday (July 8) to lead a protest at the LAPD headquarters, in wake of the fatal police shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

Both men were shot and killed by police in two separate incidents. Then, on Thursday evening (July 7), snipers killed five police officers during a Dallas protest. Three alleged suspects have been taken into custody, while a fourth suspect was killed during the incident.

When asked by TMZ cameras about the Dallas shooting, Snoop said that it's "not the answer," while acknowleding that "there’s a lot of built-up frustration."

This Los Angeles protest, however, he says is different. "You can’t answer hate with hate. You gotta answer hate with love. This is a love offering."

While standing in front of LAPD. HQ, Snoop said he wanted to reach "the graduating class" of new recruits. "This is how you make moves," he explained. "You make it happen. You get some dialogue and understanding with the new recruits before they hit the streets so that way they know that we just like them."

Game called the protest "Operation H.U.N.T.," which stands for "Hate Us Not Today" and "Hunt Us Not Today."

He says the objective is "to make the Californian government & it’s law branches aware that from today forward, we will be UNIFIED as minorities & we will no longer allow them to hunt us or be hunted by us !!! Let’s erase the fear of one another on both sides & start something new here in the city of Los Angeles, a city we all love & share."
